Where do I park?
Parking is free along Main Street and connecting streets. Parking lots available behind The Sterling Tavern, the Post Office, St. Pauls Church (on the corner of Bay & Church Streets, and Stephen Decatur Park.

When are the shops open?
Shops are typically open 10-5 but each shop has its own hours. Hours vary during January-February.

What are the Taylor House Museum Hours?
The Taylor House Museum is Open May thru October: Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday 11-3.

How big is the downtown area?
The Downtown area is about .25 miles. Berlin is very walkable, only need to park once! Benches available along the sidewalks.

When is the Berlin Farmers Market?
The Berlin Farmers Market runs May – September every Sunday 9am-1pm.

How far is Assateague and how to get there from Berlin?
Assateague is about 7 miles from downtown Berlin. Take 376 (Bay Street) from Berlin and go straight until you cant go straight anymore, which is about 5 miles, and take a right on Rt. 611. Rt. 611 South will take you right to Assateague.

Where did Berlin get its name?
Berlin is believed to be derived from a contraction of “Burleigh Inn”, a tavern located at the crossroads of the Philadelphia Post Road (now South Main Street) and Sinepuxent Road (Tripoli Street). This may be why the traditional pronunciation of the town’s name is BUR-lәn, as opposed to the more modern pronunciation Burr-LIN. The traditional pronunciation is rarely heard today.

Where can I stay in Berlin?
The Atlantic Hotel is a historic hotel. The Inn Berlin and The Holland House are Bed & Breakfasts. There are also several Airbnb’s in town.

Do you have Public Restrooms?
Yes! They are located on the side of town hall on William Street. *The Berlin Welcome Center does not have public restrooms.

Is Berlin pet friendly?
Yes! Leashed pets are allowed at all of our outdoor events. Most restaurants have outdoor patios for dining that are pet friendly. Many of our shops are pet friendly and have treats and water balls out front. Please check with each individual shop before entering.
